While Saul Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals is not directed toward women, it definitely argues the how to's on audience address. I actually am in the process of moving, but I have much to add to the list.

I am a rhetorician so I understand how to craft arguments, proposals, recommendation reports. Once I get moved, I will become active on our space and help us all become pragmatic radicals.

I'm intrigued by the title of the book you just added: Women don't ask...

I ASK. Yep, I'm an asker. I'm a asker with chutzpah. In fact, I'm tired of asking. I'm at the point of demanding. In order to change a system, you have to change how you participate in it. We, agents of change, activists, feminists, womanists etc., need to make a huge change in how we support and perpetuate patriarchy, and it needs to be highly visible and followed up by a list of demands.

Tough talk? Just imagine that you have been convicted to die by stoning for the crime of adultery. Or that you're being raped w/impunity in the Congo...or in Mississippi...or that you're a teenage girl who got knocked up her first time having sex with her boyfriend and is overwhelmed, too overwhelmed and unsupported in her life to even know what steps to take...

These are the women that keep me up at night and why I hang in here when I feel powerless. I can't stand by while women, or anyone, suffers so horribly. Or when wars are fought recklessly. This world has got to change! Obama in office is our window of opportunity, imo.

We must put the O-administration on notice that we are serious about change. He will welcome the pressure. It will help him push his own agenda with Congress and with other countries. I've been through this organizing schematic before and I know how it works. I have a vision and I have a plan but I can't pull this off by myself.

So, I'm asking. Who here is ready to step up to the plate? To rise to the occasion? To put yourself on the line? I need to know who will act with commitment and courage.
